A Local Electrician Your Neighbors Already Trust

Pirro Electric is a family-owned residential electrical contractor headquartered in Gaithersburg, Maryland. Since 2003 we've wired, rewired, and upgraded homes across Montgomery County, Frederick County, Northern Virginia, and Washington, D.C. Our 5.0-star Google rating is built on doing one thing: showing up, doing it right, and standing behind the work.

    Everything Inside the House

Most homeowner calls fall into a handful of buckets: a panel that's at capacity, a Level 2 EV charger install, a hot tub or pool circuit, recessed lighting in a kitchen reno, a tripping breaker that won't reset, or a ceiling fan that needs a proper junction box. We do all of it — pulled, permitted, and inspected.

If you're planning a renovation, loop us in early. Routing circuits before drywall closes saves real money and prevents the patchwork that comes from cutting a finished wall later.

    Everything Outside the House

Outdoor work — landscape lighting, security floods, hot tub circuits, pool equipment, generator wiring, and EV chargers — needs weather-rated boxes, GFCI/AFCI protection, and proper bonding. Cutting corners outside is how homeowners end up with nuisance trips, corroded connections, and inspector callbacks.

    Generators & EV Chargers

Most of the standby generators we install are Generac whole-home units sized for 200A or 400A services, paired with an automatic transfer switch so the house transitions seamlessly when Pepco, BGE, or Dominion goes down. For EVs, we install Level 2 chargers — hardwired Wall Connectors or dedicated NEMA 14-50 outlets — permitted and inspected like any other dedicated circuit.

    Troubleshooting Hard, Intermittent Faults

Troubleshooting is one of the things we're known for. Phantom breaker trips, lights that dim only when the dryer runs, outlets that work some days and not others, nuisance AFCI/GFCI behavior, partial-power conditions after a storm — these are the calls we get after another electrician has already been out.

We've never walked away from a fault we couldn't solve. We meter the circuit, isolate the cause, and fix the actual root issue — not the nearest symptom.

Whole-Home Rewires & Aluminum Branch Circuits

If your home was built between roughly 1965 and 1975, there's a strong chance it has aluminum branch wiring — a known fire hazard that many insurers now flag. We're one of the most experienced aluminum-to-copper rewire teams in the DMV. The same goes for Federal Pacific Stab-Lok panels: if you have one, replace it.
